can not validate beta 2 dvd

Can not validate Beta 2 DVD?

I did the (32bit) update inside of XP SP2 from the DVD I ordered from MS. During the install (still inside of XP) it asked for the KEY. I enteted it and the install continued.
When I finally got to the booting of Vista, it shows my name and pic to click on. When I do this, it pops up a window to validate Vista AGAIN???? But now it will not take my KEY! And there is no way to get to the desktop. I see that there is a setting for "automatically validate on connection" that was checked off. This must be the problem where I can not even get to the desktop, but it still does not answer why the KEY I got inside the DVD case does not work. And it is not because of a network connection, cause like others have said, if they use the help button, I can still get to MS from MSIE. I have tried to validate a number of times now, for over 4 hours! Any suggestions? Perhaps somewhere in the registry where I could turn off the "automatically validate on connection" to at least get inside Vista?
Thanks

Too stupid for a beta OS.
When you help someone like this they will just be back in a few more days with more stupid question.

EXCUSE ME? Are you GOD or something? I have an honest problem. And LUCKILY, I did this on a spare hard drive that I imaged to see how the "upgrade", not a clean install would be like - and it is hell.
I reimaged the spare HD once more, and tried the upgrade again. But this time, I made sure to unselect the "automatically validate when connected". And now this time I was able to get to the desktop AND download the drivers I needed (NVidia video, X-FI Beta drivers, TREND A/V and Firewall, etc). And this was all done from the DVD I PURCHASED through the program from MS - not some pirated infected file from the warez sites - is that OK with you now MR 2????
So now I can get to the desktop - but guess what again MR 2? It won't validate still when I try to activate it. So there IS a problem somewhere.
Heck, I have probalby been messing with computers since before you were in diapers (might still be from how you sound), and played with Windows since "Windows 386" was out. I also knew more about memory management in the old DOS days, than you even thought of. Being able to fit device drivers into memory that even the old QEMM386 couldn't. So get off our pedestool and either HELP people, or just don't read their posts if it "offends" you.
